Melissa Steginus portrait

Hi, I’m Melissa Steginus.

Productivity and Wellness Specialist and Author of Self Care at Work and Everyday Mindfulness.

I believe that your time and energy are your most precious resources. My role is to help you spend more of those resources on what matters to you.

My approach to productivity (and life) is rooted in intention and strives for empowerment and fulfillment, not just efficiency. This approach guides my work in:

• Time/task management: prioritize effective work and utilize efficient workflows
• Energy optimization: work with your natural rhythms for increased focus and vitality
• Work-life harmony: integrate and harmonize for greater intention, ease, and fulfillment

Read below for more on how I’m trying to create a more intentional world and how you can join in.

Your time and energy are your most precious resources. How you spend them shapes your entire life.

Mission

LIFE MISSION

To shape and live a life that is intentional, empowering, and fulfilling and to inspire/guide others who want the same.

WORK MISSION (LIFE MISSION IN ACTION)

To help people create frameworks in their personal and professional lives that lead them to work and live by design versus by default (i.e., with clarity, intention, ease, and effectiveness). This concept is integral to shaping and living an intentional, empowering, fulfilling life.

MOTTO

“Your time and energy are your most precious resources.”

Why: If you acknowledge the value of your time and energy and begin to invest these resources into what matters to you, you will make choices that lead you toward a more intentional, empowering, fulfilling life.

Core values

Intention: ask big questions, identify priorities, make mindful choices, strive for meaningful results, and “do with purpose, not with haste.”

Empowerment: each individual is the expert and active creator of his/her/their own life. You are in control of your choices and actions, and you must “do the work required to get the results desired.”

Freedom: rooted in empowerment, this looks like living by design, not by default. Part of this looks like designing my work around the life I want and not vice-versa: self-directed, creative, location-independent, etc.

Fulfillment: do what leads to joy, personal growth, and feeling alive. The only “should” I believe in: “what you do should also serve you.”

Integration: I aim to bridge the gap between “I know this” and “I do this.” My approach provides real value and lasting changes through simple steps and practical takeaways you can learn and apply right away.

The power of intention

You have an incredible capacity for renewal. This is one of most meaningful remarks I’ve ever received, and I believe the same is true for you…even if you feel stuck, frantic, overwhelmed, or all three .

Life is not about being overworked and unfulfilled. There are an infinite number of ways to live, and you have the power (and responsibility) to choose yours.

Your life is precious, and it’s shaped by your choices, whether intentional or reactive:

• intentional = by design: attentive, takes control and responsibility, focused on clear outcome.
• reactive = by default: unintentional, passive, disempowered, feels “stuck” and frantic.

Intentional means “done on purpose,” and your purpose is how you guide, renew, and un-“stuck” yourself. The process isn’t complicated (but it does take work!). Scroll down for a closer look.

What is intentional productivity?

Intentional means “done on purpose.” Productive means “achieving a significant result” (and significant means “important, worthy of attention”).

Being both intentional and productive means knowing what you’re doing and why. What are you working toward? What result do you want? What’s the purpose?

When it comes to productivity, most people get so hung up on minutes and tasks that they forget this key point: productivity is qualitative. It is about significance (which, by the way, is yours to define for yourself).

Understanding and practicing intentional productivity has led me to: pursue my priorities, embody my values, make bold choices, cultivate new habits, invent my own career, create work I’m proud of, and live a life I love. (More on my story below.)

Productivity is not scary (I promise!), nor is it a “bad word” or a complicated concept reserved for experts. My unique 3-pillar approach makes things purposeful, personal, and practical so that you learn and do what works for you.

Here is the not-so-secret “CODE” to the process I use and teach:

CLARIFY: Identify or review your big picture: mission, values, and priorities.
OUTLINE: Set objectives that reflect your mission, values, and priorities.
DESIGN: Structure your time and energy so you can fulfill your objectives.
EXECUTE: Spend your time and energy by design; reinforce, embody, and mobilize your big picture and (re)shape your life.

Intentional productivity is about effectiveness, not just efficiency. I’m not here to help you cram more unnecessary stuff into your day, but I will help you identify your big picture and do what matters in your day-to-day so you can reshape your life, empower yourself, and feel fulfilled.
